LumiNode firmware upgrade

In this document we will explain how to upgrade the firmware on the LumiNodes. This can be done in two ways: using Araneo (recommended) or using the web interface of the LumiNode.

Araneo

Araneo allows upgrading multiple LumiNodes or LumiCores at the same time. It will also automatically check if there are any new firmware releases. Note that this will only work if your computer running Araneo has internet connection.
  1. Open Araneo GigaCore software.
  2. Open the 'Toolbox' menu from the top bar.
  3. Select 'Firmware update' from the dropdown menu. A new window will open.
  4. Select 'LumiNode' from the sidebar on the left.
  5. Select 'Update' next to the version to which you would like to upgrade your LumiNodes. If not done yet, first download the firmware file from the Luminex servers to your local computer before you can update devices.
  6. Follow the steps in the new window that pops up to update your device.

There is only ONE firmware file for ALL the models which makes it easy to start with as there won't be any confusion about having the correct file.

How to get the latest firmware version:

In order to obtain the latest firmware version for your device please go to:

Navigate to the sub category LumiNode on the left hand side and download the latest version available. Make a note of the location where you have saved the file.

Connect to the LumiNode:

  1. Set the IP address for your computer in the same range as your node as long as it is not the same.
  2. Open your favourite browser and type in the IP address of the node
  3. You are now on the Status page of the node

Upgrading Firmware:

  1. Select the Toolbox on the left
  2. Select Firmware. This makes the pages scroll down to the firmware section

  1. Click the button: "Upgrade firmware" and navigate to the location where you saved the firmware. You might have to unzip the firmware file first, check the release notes and upload the '.swu' file.
  2. Select the firmware file and click "Open"
  3. You will now get a screen with 2 round arrows and the comment that the upgrade is in progress and it can take +/- 1 minute

  1. Once the firmware is upgraded the web browser will refresh and the upgrade is done
