Resetting a LumiNode or LumiCore can be done through various ways:
- Web interface
- LCD interface (if applicable)
- Araneo
- Luminet Monitor
This guide is made for devices without LCD interface: LumiNode1, LumiNode2, LumiNode4DIN, but the same workflow can be used to reset all LumiNode and LumiCore models.
Araneo
Device is discoverable
If the device you would like to reset, is discoverable in Araneo:
- Select the device you would like to reset
- Click on the Reset button which appears in the Utilities panel on the bottom of your screen.
- A pop-up will appear where you can choose to preserve the IP configuration and/or the saved User Profiles. The device will make a true factory reset if both checkboxes are disabled.
- Click on Reset and confirm your selection. Depending on which 'preserve' options you selected, the device might reboot.
Device is not discoverable
If the device does not show up in Araneo, but you do have a network connection to the device, the following method can be used:
- Select 'toolbox' in the top bar of Araneo
- Choose 'Factory reset'. A new window will open.
Select 'LumiNode'. From here you can reset one or multiple LumiNodes at the same time, but since the device you would like to reset, was not discovered, you will need to reset by MAC address.
The MAC address can be found on a sticker on the device. If this is not available, you can use the wildcard MAC address 'FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF', but be careful! All LumiNodes and LumiCores that are reachable from your computer will be reset when this all-FF MAC address is used.
You can choose to preserve the IP configuration and/or the saved User Profiles. The device will make a true factory reset if both checkboxes are disabled. Since the device could not be reached, it is recommended to at least disable the checkbox to preserve IP settings. Finally, press 'Reset', the device(s) will reset.
By default, all LumiNodes and LumiCore come with an IP address in the 2.x.x.x/8 subnet. The default IP address can be found on the sticker on the device. After resetting the IP configuration, make sure to configure a 2.x.x.x/8 IP address (not the same as the LumiNode) on you computer.
Luminet Monitor
There is 2 methods to do reset with Luminet monitor :
If the node is still discoverable in Luminet monitor,
In the device list, right-click on the IP address of the node
A "reset device" option will appear
Click "Reset device"
Or you can use the following procedure :
With a computer connected to the device, open Luminet Monitor ( Version 2.3.1 or later )
Under “Tools” in the menu bar you find “Reset LumiNode”
In the new window, enter the mac address of the device you want to reset. This can be found on the label with the IP address.
Use FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF to reset all LumiNodes in your network
Choose if you want to keep the IP settings
Choose if you want to keep the profiles
Click reset
This second method will be efficient even if the node is not discoverable in the device list.
